Have you ever wanted to try your hand at pottery? Now’s your chance! Join us for a fun-filled six-week wheel throwing course where you’ll be guided through the basics of pottery - from preparing clay to throwing, trimming, attaching handles and glazing. By the end of the six weeks, you’ll have your very own collection of handmade ceramics - and just a warning, you’ll probably get hooked! While this course is perfect for beginners, returning students will be guided to explore more advanced forms and techniques. Your course includes a 10kg bag of clay, use of studio tools and glazes, and the bisque and glaze firing of up to 8 finished pieces. Additional clay can also be purchased from the studio if needed. Just bring an old towel, wear closed shoes and comfy clothes, and be prepared to get a little messy! Pro tip: We recommend trimming your nails before class for a better experience on the wheel. Tuesday 27th October – Tuesday 1st December 6pm – 9pm Our studio is located on the ground floor of the Melbourne Street Gardens offices (across the road from UR Cafe). Parking can be found along Melbourne Street or in the car park on Dunn Street.
